Process for Entry and Selection of Hall of Fame Inductees for the International Lineman’s Museum

Each year the International Lineman’s Museum solicits and collects entries for candidates to be considered for induction into the International Lineman's Hall of Fame. Entries are collected throughout the year and judging is done by the Museum's Board of Directors. Inductees are selected in the fourth quarter of each calendar year. All nominations need to be turned in by June 1st. for that following year.
1. Each entry should include a written essay describing the nominees life, industry work history, achievements or accomplishments to the industry, as well as any community service. The entry can be submitted by a family member, friend, co-worker, company, supervisor, or student in honor of the person. Each entry must include six or more photos that can be used in museum videos, awards and advertising if the nominee is selected. Beginning in 2016, we require three nonfamilial references that the voting board may call for any questions that they might have. For an example of past nominees letters and essays, go to
2. Once the entry deadline has been reached for the year, all essays are sent to the Board of Directors to be judged and inductee selections are made. The Board of Directors is made up of 12 people from the industry. Each board member votes on their top three entries. The votes are counted and the winners are chosen.
Voting criteria: Each nominee is judged on their accomplishments and contributions to
the electrical industry, their work history, their relationships with co-workers, as well as
their service to the industry and their community. The winners are those individuals that
have continually exceeded the call of duty and exemplify those qualities that show the true nature
of the Brotherhood of Linemen.
3. If an nominee is not selected for induction for a particular year, they are automatically eligible for consideration for the following year. Nominations can be revised if you wish before the next years deadline. Nominations stay elegable for consideration for 10 years, unless a change is made to the monimation (At the time of the change the 10 years will renew).
4. The winning individuals chosen are inducted each year at the APPA Rodeo Banquet, where they receive an award listing their name along with all other inductees for that particular year. Their name will also be engraved on an eight foot monument outside of the museum. This award is given by the Board of Directors as a way to honor each individual for their outstanding contributions to the electrical industry - both past and present.
